On Thursday Paradoxical News was invited to a press showing at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art north of Copenhagen. With an introduction to the Warhol after Munch exhibition by executive director of Louisiana, Poul Erik Tøjner. The purpose was to show Warholesque versions of Munchish works of art. To show deep and existentialist Munch as more superficial than we normally perceive him. And reversely, to show Warhol as a much deeper artist than he is normally credited for.
The works of art - at this press showing - were displays of copy upon copy of iconic paintings and prints. And from the typical Warhol perspective asked questions of original versus copy. Deep versus shallow. Death versus life. And desperation versus exhilaration. Whatever your motivation: Go and have fun with this KOPY Cat exhibition.
