Last night the soccer World Cup opened with a giant concert in South Africa with Nobel Prize winner Desmond Tutu giving a speech. And Columbian singer/ hip swinger Shakira to kick off the artistic programme. The announcement that Nelson Mandela is unable to participate in the openening is sad, but fully understandable under the circumstances, see below. Today marks the day of the sports kick-off. Opening with a match between host South Africa and Mexico played to a tie of 1-1.
Paradoxical News has received many complaints about not being present during the World Cup in South Africa (or during many other important national and international events). The editor-in-chief would like to apologize for the disappointment to its followers. But due to cash restraints at survival level this niche publication is completely unable to meet that demand.
